Japan part 4 (Kamikochi)

Mountains, I love them. Ever since I was a kid and travelled with my parents to Switzerland to visit my aunt, I’ve loved them. And so does Frank. So when we were planning for our trip to Japan and found out there was a region called ‘The Japanese Alps’, we were sold.

So, on our second day in Takayama, we took a bus to the Kamikochi region in the middle of the Japanese Alps. Kamikochi had actually just opened a few days earlier and there was still a lot of snow in the area. (and that’s a good thing if you live in Dubai ;)) We walked around Kamikochi the whole day and just enjoyed the fresh air and the beautiful beautiful views. And then…almost at the end of our hike….monkeys! First one, then two and then ten! Even little ones, just a few meters away…what a great day! :)
